Overview
Chores Auction is a household chore management app for families and roommates. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is stored, and how it is used.
Data We Collect
Chores Auction collects only the information you provide directly within the app:
- User profiles – A display name and emoji you choose for each household member.
- Chore data – Titles, durations, scheduled days, and completion status of chores you create.
- Team information – A team name and the list of members you add.
We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, location data, payment information, or any other personal data.
How Your Data Is Stored
All data is stored in two places, both under your full control:
- On-device storage – Using Apple's Core Data framework, data is saved locally on your iPhone or iPad.
- iCloud (CloudKit) – If you are signed in to iCloud, your data is automatically synced to your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. This enables sharing with household members you invite and keeps your data in sync across your devices.
Your data is stored in your personal iCloud container (iCloud.ca.yildirim.chores-auction). Only you and the household members you explicitly invite have access to it. We have no access to this data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. Data shared between household members occurs directly through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Push Notifications
The app uses Apple's Push Notification service (APNs) solely to trigger iCloud sync updates in the background. No marketing or promotional notifications are sent.
Third-Party Services
Chores Auction does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs. The only external service used is Apple's iCloud/CloudKit, which is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your data remains on your device and in your iCloud account for as long as you use the app. You can delete all app data at any time by:
- Deleting the app from your device (removes local data).
- Going to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage and removing Chores Auction data (removes iCloud data).
Children's Privacy
Chores Auction does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed for family use and does not require any account creation or personal data beyond the name you choose to display.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

First public release. All data stored locally and in the user's private iCloud account via CloudKit. No third-party services used.
